STONE COTTAGE ANTIQUES. (1997)

Stone Cottage Antiques was the brainchild of sisters Patricia Ferrier and Susan Kinsella. It was based on memories from their childhood of their family cottages full of wonderful old wicker, overstuffed chesterfields and chairs, white painted furniture, small painted upright pianos and old iron beds. What wonderful memories and times they had. Stone Cottage was a ‘life style’ to be treasured and preserved.

Pat would be the hunter, buying in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia, searching for wonderful old cottage wicker, painted cottage furniture and interesting cottage accessories from the 1900 through to the 50’s. Everything would be real with the shabby chic style; all shipped to Naples, Florida.

Susan would open a shop in Naples where she lived. Stone Cottage was born.
What fun they had! Pat wandering through the Canadian countryside, and Susan wandering through beautiful Naples cottages/homes with clients who were desperately searching for a Nantucket look.

They spent 8 years in business together in Florida having great fun and meeting wonderful people.

Gary and Susan, originally from Toronto, moved back to Canada in 2005 moving to Muskoka. Susan now retired to spend time with her family.

Pat would continue with Stone Cottage Antiques only now in Toronto and Muskoka where she now lives. Today Stone Cottage sells at Wild Bird on Mount Pleasant Road and Manor Road In Toronto and in the summer months in Muskoka at the Red Barn near Port Carling. we also have a small display at the 400 market south of Barrie at Innisfil Road.

You will find wonderful lamps made from antique porch posts and in the spring she will have new birch ones. Lately she has added a more contemporary look with a painted cottage flare; always original and always different.
She is still having fun. Susan joins her as often as she can, especially for the hunt. Life is good.
