This Quebec born and Toronto raised Certified Chef de Cuisine had the opportunity to work at some of Toronto’s finest hotels growing up. His International experience from Europe, Bahamas, West Indies and The USA as well as 11 years as Executive chef of 1 of Ontario’ s finest Country Inns Grandview Inn Huntsville is reflected in the menus prepared at Tall Tree’s. The skills he learned and honed in his travels are well represented in the restaurants menus. Combined with his passion for exceptional wines Randy and his wife Karen and their staff have been able to put together a balanced experience for their patrons

Randy & Karen hit 2 milestones in 2000 1st becoming restaurateurs 2nd celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. Upon purchasing Tall Trees in 2000 they became its caretakers and proprietors putting their own stamp on a local institution. For 25 years the restaurant has had an active roll in the community not only with its dining and entertainment contributions but also their involvement in local charities.

With a small brigade of staff they service the restaurants needs and a growing catering business. Along with pastry chef Kim Groomes Tall Tree’s is able to produce all their own pastries and preserves, chutneys and marinades as well as producing fruit and savoury pies for ½ dozen local retailers.

Tall Tree’s is an upscale dining establishment in the heart of Muskoka located in the Town of Huntsville overlooking Hunter’s Bay. We are just 25 minutes from the west gate of Algonquin Park and 2 ¼ hours form Toronto. The restaurant is situated in a 120 year old historical Muskoka building (built by one of Huntsville’s founding Mayor’s) that typifies that old Muskoka charm. We have seating for 98 guests in the restaurant and up to 40 people in our timber frame Muskoka room.Sitting on a 6.5-acre property of manicured gardens.

We are also very fortunate to have some of the most stunning sunsets in Muskoka..You may be in the middle of town but you feel like your sitting in Algonquin Park and you never know what wildlife may wander by from the deer that also love the gardens to the fox and rabbits.
